Understanding Rating Distribution and Calibration
The Rating Distribution and Calibration feature in Fluid provides an insights dashboard that enables high-level managers (for example, directors and vice presidents) to evaluate and calibrate their teams with the organization's desired rating distribution in Manager Self-Service.
During the performance review cycle, high-level managers can use the Team Rating Insights Dashboard to:
View the preliminary rating distribution of their teams overall and compare it against the desired rating distribution of the organization.
This allows high-level managers to get an idea of what the team managers expect their team performance will be, and how well it aligns with the organization's expectation at the beginning of the review cycle.
Evaluate the review rating distribution of their teams (overall and individually) and calibrate their teams as a whole to align with the desired rating distribution of the organization.
During the evaluation phase, team managers conduct reviews with employees and enter the proposed review rating for each of them. Before the proposed review rating is finalized and shared with the employee, high-level managers can use the dashboard to compare the review rating distribution of their teams against the desired rating distribution of the organization, and notify team managers to update employee review ratings as needed to ensure that both curves are aligned. From the dashboard, they can check out the review rating distribution for the team as a whole or by manager, confirm if all review ratings have been entered, and see how well the review rating distribution (actual) matches up to the preliminary rating distribution (expected).
Note: The Rating Distribution and Calibration feature supports documents with the Performance document usage only.
Administrators have the ability to view and compare preliminary, actual (not editable), and desired rating distributions for employee groups in Classic. For more information, see Viewing Ratings Summaries.
