Here are the high-level steps for setting up the Rating Distribution and Calibration feature (the Team Rating Insights Dashboard) for high-level managers.
Note: To perform setup tasks that are specific to the ePerformance application (steps 1-3), the administrator needs to be a member of the ePerformance HR Admin role.
Define rating distribution parameters for managers on the Set Up Mgr Rating Distribution Page.
Specify default values for the Team Rating Insights transaction on the Assign Document Defaults Page.
The system uses the specified document type and performance review period to launch the initial view of the Team Rating Insights tile and dashboard.
(Optional) Enable preliminary ratings to be assigned to performance documents by selecting the Preliminary Rating check box in the Overall Summary section of template definitions for documents.

Important! Though not required, the use of preliminary ratings in performance documents is highly recommended to take full advantage of the Team Rating Insights dashboard in Manager Self-Service.
Managers enter preliminary ratings of their team documents on the Enter Preliminary Ratings Page.

The administrator (user with the ePerformance HR Admin role) uses this page to define a default desired rating distribution by document type for managers to apply against documents that are owned by them or managers in their teams.

Document Type |
Displays the document type to which rating distribution setup applies. Only document types with the Performance document usage are available for selection. |
Apply to All Templates |
Select to apply the rating distribution setup to all templates of the displayed document type. Clear this option to apply the setup to templates specified in the Define Templates section only. |
Define Templates
Specify one or more active templates of the displayed document type to be used for rating distribution and to which the rating distribution setup applies. This section appears when the Apply to All Templates field is cleared.
Review Rating Model
A document type can be configured to support the rating distribution for one or more rating model and calculation method combinations.

Select the calculation method for the desired distribution. Options are Average, Review Band, and Summation. |
Total Percent |
Displays the sum of desired percentages that are entered. |
Desired Rating Distribution
Specify the desired rating distribution for each rating model and calculation method combination. The desired rating distribution defines the desired percentage of documents that should fall into each rating category. The selected rating model and calculation method determine which fields appear in this section.

Enter the percentage of employees that should receive the rating that is specified in the Review Rating field. Distribution percentages must add up to 100. |
