This chapter provides an overview of the Crystal Management Console (CMC) and discusses how to:
Log onto the CMC.
Administer reports.
Administer authentication.
Administer license keys.
The CMC enables you to manage the Crystal Enterprise System. As part of the PeopleSoft Enterprise integration, there are two areas that have modified behavior.
First, the Object information includes default information for logging onto the data sources automatically whenever a report is run.
Second, a PeopleSoft Enterprise tab has been added to the Authentication page. You use the PeopleSoft Enterprise tab to:
Enable PeopleSoft Enterprise authentication.
Set a default user and password.
Add, delete, and set default domains.
Add and delete roles.
Set new alias options.
Set update options.
Set new user options.
This section discusses how to log on to the CMC.

New PeopleSoft Enterprise Domain |
Enter any new domain you wish to add to the list of current domains. Enter the domain in the format <Domain Name>=http://<Gateway webserver name>:<port number>/PSIGW/QueryListeningConnector/<Node Name>, for example: CRM=http://asanped083004.peoplesoft.com:8000/PSIGW/QueryListeningConnector/CRM_LOCAL, where CRM_LOCAL is the default node for the CRM application (domain). Note. You can specify the node name in the IntegrationGateway.properties file. If the node name is not specified, the system uses the default node of the Gateway. |
Current PeopleSoft Enterprise Domains |
Add, delete, and define the current PeopleSoft Enterprise domains. The domain format is <Domain Name>=http://<Gateway webserver name>:<port number>/PSIGW/QueryListeningConnector/<Node Name>. If there are multiple domains, you can also assign a default domain in the next field. |

Assign each added PeopleSoft Enterprise alias to an account with the same name |
Select this option when users have an existing Crystal Enterprise account with the same name as their PeopleSoft Enterprise account. PeopleSoft Enterprise aliases are assigned to existing users. Users who do not have existing Crystal Enterprise accounts, or who do not have the same name in the Crystal Enterprise and PeopleSoft Enterprise accounts, are added as new users. |
Create a new account for every added PeopleSoft Enterprise alias |
Select this option to create a new account for each user. If users have already created accounts through the sign-up feature in the Crystal Enterprise web desktop, the users will have separate PeopleSoft Enterprise and Crystal Enterprise accounts. |
New aliases will be added and new users will be created |
Select this option to automatically create a new alias for every PeopleSoft Enterprise user mapped to Crystal Enterprise. |
No new aliases will be added and new users will not be created |
Select this option if the PeopleSoft Enterprise directory you are mapping contains many users, of which only a few will use Crystal Enterprise. Crystal Enterprise does not automatically create aliases and accounts for all users, but only for users who log onto Crystal Enterprise. |
New users are created as named users |
Select this option if new user accounts are configured to use named user licenses. Named user licenses are associated with specific users and enable people to access the system based on their user name and password. This provides named users with access to the system no matter how many other people are connected. When Crystal Enterprise for PeopleSoft Enterprise is shipped, it includes one named user license, which should be reserved for system use. Note. If you select this option, you must have a named user license available for each user created. |
New users are created as concurrent users |
Select this option if new user accounts are configured to use concurrent user licenses. Concurrent licenses specify how many people can connect to Crystal Enterprise at the same time. This licensing is very flexible because a small number of concurrent licenses can support a large user base. When Crystal Enterprise for PeopleSoft Enterprise is shipped, it includes five concurrent licenses. |
By default, the transmission of data between PeopleSoft servers and Crystal Enterprise over the internet is achieved through HTTP. To secure the connection, the following are valid options:
HTTPS in the URL
Using HTTPS in the URL allows for data encryption but no server authentication.
Server Authentication
If server authentication is desired, perform the following steps:
Update the registry SSL Require Server Authentication to 1.
Update the registry SSL Root Certificate File to <full path of certificate file>.
Create the .pem file based on the following criteria:
If the certificate is already in PeopleSoft Enterprise, export the certificate to plain text.
If the certificate is acquired from Verisign, the certificate is sent in plain text format.
If the certificate is already in BEA WebLogic, use the der2pem utility to generate the certificate.
If there are multiple root certificates, append the certificates in the .pem file.

From the Crystal Management Console, select License Keys. |
To add, delete, and view license key information. |
Access the License Keys form.
Named Users |
Named user licenses enable the users to access the system based on their user name and password. Consequently, the system enables many people to connect as long as they have the proper user name and password. |
Concurrent Users |
Concurrent licenses determine the number of people who can connect to the Crystal Enterprise server at the same time. In Crystal Enterprise for PeopleSoft Enterprise, the maximum number of concurrent users is 5, unless more licenses are obtained. |
Processors |
Processors specify the number of processors that are running Crystal Enterprise. You can determine the number of processor license by counting the number of processors running on Crystal Enterprise. |
Note. Crystal Report for PeopleSoft Enterprise delivers some license keys as part of the installation. However, you can add or delete license keys as you deem necessary.
