In this chapter, we discuss some of the internet content pagelets available in the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal. In addition to news headlines, the PeopleSoft Enterprise Portal provides pagelets that deliver an array of information from the internet. Depending on how you personalize your portal's homepage, you can view a wide range of internet content, including weather reports, financial reports, and reference materials.
Note. PeopleSoft cannot guarantee that content providers will continue to support the integration of internet content. PeopleSoft will support the integration as long as it has a solid partnership with a vendor. Also, the vendor content descriptions and images in this chapter may not be up to date. Customers should check the vendor's website for the latest content descriptions.
Access the Language Selection pagelet.
The Language Selection pagelet displays links for each PeopleSoft-delivered translation that has been enabled for the application database. Click a link to change the displayed language without having to sign out and sign back in again. This functionality is especially useful for GUEST users who may not have access to the language selection options on the sign-in page.

Rich Site Summary (RSS) is a pseudo-standard Extensible Markup Language (XML) format developed by Netscape. Particularly suitable for listing news headlines, RSS has been adopted by content providers to supply users with a sampling of the content available on their websites. Rich Site Summary format provides the following features:
News feed title, a link back to the source website, and an optional image or logo.
Headlines and links to the associated articles on the source website.
Optional capability to search for content on the source website.
Note. This pagelet currently supports news feeds using the RSS 0.91 format.

Search results display on the source website.
