Field or Control

Description

Effective Date

Enter the payees retirement date.

Date of Death

This field appears only if the payees date of death is entered on the Biographical Details page in Administer Workforce JPN. It is used with the Period End Date field.

General

Select if the employee is in General category.

Note: If this check box is selected, Start Date and End Date of General row will be displayed with Hire Date and Termination Date and years of service is calculated accordingly. You can also edit the Start Date and End Date. Years of Service is calculated automatically based on the Start Date and End Date.

Retirement by Disability

Select if the retirement is due to disability.

Retirement Income Report Submitted

Select if the payee submitted a Retirement Income report to your organization. If this check box is deselected, the system applies an income tax rate of 20 percent to the gross amount of the retirement allowance.

Submit to Tax Office

This check box is used when printing the Legal Payment Summary report. If selected, the payees earnings and withholding tax are included in the figures that are reported as submitted to the tax office.

Specific Executive

Select if the employee is in Specific Executive category. By selecting this check box, the Start Date and End Date of Specific Executive will be displayed with Hire Date and Termination Date and years of service is calculated accordingly.

Note: The Start Date and End Date of a Specific Executive cannot be more than 5 years. The Executive with tenure of five years or more should be considered as a General employee.

Select this check box to override the Start Date or End Date and Years of Service.

General - Start Date, End Date and Years of Service

The Start Date field displays the hire date or rehire date of payees in general category by default (as defined on the Job Information page).

The End date field displays the termination date of payees under general category by default (as defined on the Job Information page).

Note: If a date of death is displayed on this page for the payee, and that date matches the period end date, the system considers the retirement allowance as paid due to the payees death and calculates income tax and inhabitant tax as zero. It also excludes the retirement allowance from the Retirement Allowance Withholding Tax Report.

The General Start Date and End Date fields are enabled only if the General field check box is selected. You can modify the dates as per requirements. Years of Service are calculated automatically based on the Start Date and End Date.

Specific Executive - Start Date, End Date and Years of Service

The Start Date field displays the hire date or rehire date of payees under Specific Executive category by default (as defined on the Job Information page).

The End date field displays the termination date of payees under Specific Executive category by default (as defined on the Job Information page).

The Specific Executive Start Date and End Date fields are enabled only when Specific Executive field check box is selected. Years of Service are calculated automatically based on the Start Date and End Date. Years of Service for Specific Executive cannot be more than 5 years.

Overlap - Start Date, End Date and Years of Service

The overlap Start Date, End Date, and Years of Service fields are displayed based on the General/Specific Start Date and End Date. Any overlap period between General Employment and Specific Executive Employment is calculated automatically and the years of service for overlap period is also calculated automatically.

Total - Start Date, End Date and Years of Service

Based on the General Employment/Specific Executive and the overlap period, overall start date and end date of the employment is calculated automatically. Overall years of service is also calculated accordingly.

Former Retirement Allowance Paid in Same Year

Complete the fields in this group box using the data that the employee reported on the Retirement Income report. The system references the data in these fields when it calculates taxes on the retirement allowance.

Other Retirement Allowance Paid in Last 5 Years

Complete the fields in this group box using the data that the employee reported on the Retirement Income report. The system references the data in these fields when it calculates taxes on the retirement allowance.

If an employee works in two different organizations simultaneously, retirement allowance deductions should be made for only one instance in the overlapping period.

Note: The “Former Retirement Allowance Paid in the Same Year” and “Other Retirement Allowance Paid in Last 5 Years” sections are applicable only if the employee is having single employment type in their tenure.
